My Passion
I really enjoy seeing a lighting project come to life.
There’s something rewarding about being involved from the beginning, working through the challenges, finding a creative solution and then seeing the finished project come together. Lighting and controls can get complicated, but I enjoy figuring out how all the pieces fit and finding a solution that makes sense for the customer.
One of the things I’m most proud of at AGS is the lighting team we’ve built. I’ve had the opportunity to help train and develop some really talented people, and seeing how far we’ve come in such a short time has been incredibly rewarding.
My Role
I lead the lighting side of Allied Group Sales, but I don’t see my role as simply managing a team.
I like being involved. I like solving problems, working alongside our people and sharing what I’ve learned over the years. My goal is to lead by example and help our team become better at what we do every day.
My Career
I’ve been in the lighting industry since 1996, when I started with Philips Lighting in Somerset, New Jersey, right after graduating from Rutgers University.
After moving to Arizona, I spent more than 12 years in the lighting agency business. From there, I spent four years as Regional Lighting Manager for WESCO and two years as Regional Sales Manager for Dialight.
Lighting has been a big part of my life for a long time, and I still enjoy learning what’s new. I hold my Lighting Certification (LC), am a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and enjoy being part of an industry that continues to change and evolve.
When I’m not being Principal, VP Sales
I’m married to my beautiful wife, Emily, who also happens to work here at AGS. So we get to share both a home and a workplace, which definitely keeps things interesting.
We’re also the proud parents of twins, William and Maria. They’re creative, intelligent and active, and watching them grow into their own people has been one of the great joys of my life.
When I’m away from work, you’ll usually find me outside. I’m an avid fisherman, hiker and outdoorsman. I enjoy getting out on the water, finding a good trail or just spending time outdoors with my family. After spending most of my career around lighting, I guess it’s fitting that I appreciate a good sunset, too.
