Genevieve Birch
My Passion: I love a good puzzle. Sometimes control needs arise that don’t have an obvious solution. It is very satisfying to look at things from different angles and get that “aha!” moment of finding just the right piece to complete the system.
My Role: As the Lighting Control Specialist, I am a bit of a hybrid – both inside and outside. From take-offs to start-ups, I get to be part of the process from start to finish. This allows me more opportunities to ensure the projects go smoothly.
Career Background: My entire career has been focused on lighting in one form or another. I started out in the entertainment industry as a master electrician for theatrical and concert productions. I learned to program various lighting consoles and controllers as well as speedy troubleshooting. That ultimately led me to learn about programming relay panels and troubleshooting control systems.
Personal Side: I love trying new things. I consider myself somewhat of a craft-junkie, but the top two are throwing pottery and jewelry-making. Whenever an opportunity to geocache arises, I take it. Any day that I can paddle the kayaks with my boys is a fantastic day.
