My Passion
I’m passionate about sports. I love playing them, even if I don’t play as often or as well as I used to, watching them and competing in fantasy sports.
I love competition and the feeling of working toward a common goal. I think that translates well to business. At AGS, I enjoy the challenge of doing our jobs at such a high level that we become the preferred partner when distributors and manufacturers are deciding who they want to work with in our region.
For me, it’s about competing for excellence, not simply competing to win.
My Role
As Operations Manager at AGS, I oversee the processes and procedures that keep our business running effectively. My focus is on helping our team deliver exceptional quality in both the goods and services we provide to our distributor and manufacturer partners.
Speed and accuracy are critical in our industry. Our partners need to know that we’ll respond quickly, get the details right and follow through on what we promise. My goal is to build a team and an operation that consistently delivers that level of service.
I have a degree in secondary education and more than 25 years of industry experience. That combination, along with a willingness to take on challenges, has prepared me for a leadership role where I can help guide our team and continue moving AGS forward.
My Career
I’ve been in the electrical industry since 1993, when I started my career as a warehouseman at a local independent electrical distributor.
Since then, I’ve worked in numerous roles with increasing responsibility, including counter sales, purchasing, operations management, branch management and ultimately Vice President of Operations. I’ve had the opportunity to lead both sales and operations teams throughout my career and have served as a change agent during some significant transitions.
I’ve helped open new branches and played a key role in two major computer system conversions. Those experiences taught me the importance of adaptability, leadership and keeping people moving in the same direction when change comes along.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, and I continue to bring that combination of education, industry experience and a willingness to tackle challenges to my role at AGS.
When I’m not running Operations
The most important things in my life aren’t found at work. I strive to live with three priorities in mind: serving God, serving my family and doing everything I can in life to reflect positively on both.
Those priorities shape how I approach my work, my relationships and the way I show up for the people around me.
