Michael Knoblock

Michael started at Allied Group Sales on January 1, 2017, where he serves as the Principal and President of the Total Lighting & Control.

He started his career in the electrical industry in 1996 with Philips Lighting in Somerset New Jersey after graduating from Rutgers University. He later moved to Arizona and worked in the lighting agency world for over 12 years, and then spent 4 years as the Regional Lighting Manager for WESCO. Michael most recently was the Regional Sales Manager for Dialight for the previous 2 years. Michael has his Lighting Certification (LC), is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, and is dedicated to the advancement of technology in the lighting industry.

Michael and his wife Emily reside in East Mesa and have two beautiful twin babies, William and Maria. He is an avid fisherman, hiker, and outdoor enthusiast.

Erik Dwyer

Erik Dwyer joined AGS in January as Operations Manager. Erik has been in the electrical industry since 1993, when he began his career as a warehouseman at a local independent electrical distributor. Since then he has worked in numerous roles of increasing responsibility including counter sales, purchasing, operations manager, branch manager and ultimately VP of Operations. Erik has lead both sales and operations teams during his career, and played a vital role as a change agent leader opening new branches and overseeing two major computer conversions. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona. In his free time Erik enjoys watching sports, especially football and basketball. Erik and his wife Sheila live in Peoria and together have seven children.

Erik has primary Inside Sales responsibilities for Dialight and Edwards Signaling.

Don Kaminski

Don began his career in the electrical industry in 1980 working for a local manufacturer’s rep agency.

In 1987, Don joined Hubbell Wiring Device Division and covered the Arizona and Las Vegas territories. He was promoted to District Manager in 1993 and was responsible for factory directs and agents covering the 10 mountain states.

Don and his former partner purchased Allied Geis Agency and renamed the company to Allied Group Sales on July 1, 1997. Don has been an active member in the electrical industry having served as a Cadre member in The Electric League of Arizona, has served two terms on the NEMRA Board of Directors and is a member of Netcom One Manufacturers Rep Networking Group.

Don is married to Diane (Chuck), enjoys traveling, golf, music and various sporting events. He has two daughters, Andrea Hobson, a Realtor for Cobalt Premier Properties, LLC married to Travis Hobson both of which graduated from ASU in 2009 and now residing in Nashville with their son Cameron and daughter Lilly May Hobson. Cortney, who graduated from ASU Cronkite School of Journalism in December 2013, also resides in Nashville where she is Settlement Assistant at Title Center of the South.

Michael Cunningham

Michael started his career in the electrical industry working for an electrical contractor during summer breaks where he learned the basics of the electrical trade. Growing up in a house where his father was very active in the electrical industry he is second generation Manufacturer’s Rep Agent. Michael started his professional career with Fields Electrical Sales in Ohio. Working his way through the ranks of the company he started calling on small to midsize distributors and quickly worked his way to becoming a leader within the Fields’ organization. While there, Michael represented many fantastic NEMRA lines many of which Allied Group Sales represents today. At the time of his departure he was responsible for managing key contractor and distributor accounts in Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati, Ohio with a focus on the commodity product lines offered.

Shortly after moving to Arizona in 2014 with his beautiful wife, of 10 years, Julia and three children Quinn (14), Maddison (9), and Caelen (7) Michael started working directly for Southwire as the Field Sales Representative covering Arizona and Southern Nevada. His most recent roll with Southwire being West Region, Vice President managing the 8 state West Region. During which time he had responsibility for 5 agents in his region and managed all sales growth initiatives and activities.

Michael is extremely active in his local church and enjoys spending time with his family and watching his kids sporting events, while helping to coach whenever possible. He has recently taken up mountain biking and enjoys everything the Arizona outdoors has to offer, especially year round golf.

Tim Klei

Tim has been with Allied Group Sales since August 31, 2015. He initially served as the Vice President of Sales, and on March 1, 2016 became the CEO. Tim began his electrical career in 1993 at Fife Florida Electric Supply in Tampa Florida. Through multiple acquisitions over his 22 year distribution career, including Hughes Supply, The Home Depot, and HD Supply, Tim’s responsibilities grew from Branch Manager, District Manager, Regional Vice President and ultimately Vice President of Sales and Operations for HD Supply Electrical. He has a Bachelors degree in business as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Tim also obtained his Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative designation from the University of Texas 3 year certification program. Married since 1996, Tim and Jill have three children and reside in the west valley of Phoenix.

Christie Humphrey

Christie entered the electrical and lighting industry at a time when dedicated marketing positions were relatively new to distribution.  Most of her experience has been in establishing new departments and marketing programs with the emphasis on providing relevant and timely information and sales resources. With almost 25 years industry experience, Christie has spent half of her career in electrical distribution and the other half in lighting manufacturing.  In fact, she began her career at the Electric League of Arizona where she first worked with AGS founder, Don Kaminski.

Christie has received several Best of the Best Marketing Awards from Ted Magazine as well as through IMARK. She has served as an IES board member and has supported many of the electrical and lighting associations throughout her career. Providing education and training to the industry has been a passion of hers as well.  Christie has organized and conducted hundreds of training classes and helped launch The Electric Times newspaper.  She was also a contributing author of the book Electronic Contracting for the National Contract Management Association, which focuses on government contracting. Christie’s diverse background within the industry brings a well-rounded approach to our goals to serve purposefully and responsively and to become the industry consultant of choice.

Nancy Simmons

Nancy has spent over 30 years in the lighting industry working with the design and construction communities.  She began her career with the Norman Brim Company and she has worked with other manufacturer’s representatives here in Arizona.  Nancy is very familiar with the Arizona/Southwest marketplace and is well-versed on the many new lighting technologies and controls available today.  She joins us in the new role of Contractor Sales in our Total Lighting & Control Division and she is qualified to help you with your lighting specification and project needs.

Nancy’s family roots are in the mid-west so she enjoys traveling there each year to visit with friends and family.  Her passions are cooking, the outdoors, and anything to do with animals and animal rights.
